What is included in the cost of my registration?

Your conference registration includes full and open access to all sessions (excluding Investor Forum) and events. As applicable, breakfast, lunch, evening receptions and breaks are also included.  Conference attendees are responsible for all related expenses such as air travel, ground transportation, lodging.

Can I pay to attend only one day or part of the Conference?

Yes, we offer a one-day rate, which is $930 for members and $1,565 for nonmembers.

What are the registration deadlines?

Are meals included with my registration?

Yes, all meals at the conference are included in your registration.

Can my guest attend meeting functions, as well as evening receptions?

Yes.

Do I have to pre-register for the sessions I want to attend?

It is not required to pre-register for sessions, but we do encourage it.

Do I have to pre-register for the meals I want to attend?

We only ask that you register for the Friday night event and Saturday brunch.

How can I obtain an invoice/receipt for a registration or group of registrations?

A confirmation email is sent via email at the time of registration. You can also re-print the system generated receipt by going to your Society profile, clicking on Billing History, and 2018 National Conference (under Recent Events). Should you need additional assistance please email kwyatt@societycorpgov.org for a receipt, invoice or additional registration questions.

Can I substitute/transfer someone else to attend the Conference?

You can substitute someone else by emailing kwyatt@societycorpgov.org with the new registrant's name and contact information.

Conference Registration Cancellation Procedure?

Refunds of any registration fees paid will be at the rate of a full refund less $100 with written notification (e-mail, fax, mail) received by the Society on or before May 23, 2017, half refund less $100 on or before May 30, and NO REFUND after May 30.

Where will be meeting sessions be held?

All of the education sessions will be held at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown hotel.

Will there be presentation handouts provided onsite?

As part of our continuing effort to be green, all National Conference course materials will be provided electronically prior to the meeting (if speakers have provided the materials). No paper handouts, printing of materials, USBs or CDs will be available onsite. We encourage you to download course materials or pre-print materials before traveling to Washington, DC.  All handouts will be available via the Conference website and the Conference APP. Registrant log-in is required to access.  Please consider the environment before printing materials.

How much CLE credit do I get for each session?

Many state bars and CLE boards regularly grant continuing legal education credits to conference attendees. The Society for Corporate Governance has contracted with CEU Institute, a nationally accredited CLE and CE provider, to manage the CLE process for our attendees. Applications for the National Conference and Ethics workshop have been submitted to all states with a CLE requirement.  The conference is also often eligible for CPA or paralegal credits. Depending on the jurisdiction the program is worth 15 - 18 credits.

How can I make sure I receive CLE credit for attending?

Attendance at all conference sessions must be reported on-site with the attendance tracker and attendees will be contacted with credit information following the conference. Please check with your individual jurisdiction. CEU Institute will be onsite throughout the conference at the CLE Desk to answer any questions, or you may contact them via email at accreditation@ceuinstitute.net or phone at 800-556-3559.

Is Wi-Fi Provided?

Free (limited bandwidth) Wi-Fi is available in the main meeting areas and in nearly all session rooms. Due to the limited bandwidth, Wi-Fi is not recommended for use by exhibitors for their displays/presentations.

What is the attire?

The dress code for the Conference is business casual. Meeting room temperatures will vary, so wear layered clothing to ensure your personal comfort. We also recommend comfortable shoes.

Where is the information center?

General questions bout the Conference and the Society are answered at the Registration Desk and Membership Hub.

Is there an attendee list?

A list of attendees will be provided in your registration packet and is also available on the Conference APP.

Is there a Conference APP?

Yes.  Details for downloading the APP will be emailed to all registrants prior to the Conference.

What is the closest airport?

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is the closest airport and is less than 8 miles from the hotel. Dulles International Airport (IAD) is approximately 30 miles from the hotel and Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) is approximately 40 miles from the hotel.

I have special needs (dietary, mobility, etc.). How can I inform you of them?

Please note all special needs on the registration form. The Society will make every effort to meet your specific accommodation needs.

I cancelled by National Conference Registration. Will the Society also cancel my hotel reservation?

No. Cancelling your National Conference registration will not automatically cancel your hotel reservation. Please contact the hotel directly to cancel your reservation. Your hotel reservation cancellation is subject to the hotel's cancellation policy.
